Black Poker

Black detective novel, theme worked by the association Imag’IN, and soon exposed in the begining of april.
My one and only studio exercice to date (the regulars to my galleries know my preference for the natural light ;)) in front of Julien, model with exacerbated funny faces, playing against the voracious shadows and the fateful amber bottle.
I choosed for this picture to work with a strong and concentrated beam at table level in order to render to the scene a very hugged light and so disproportionate the shadows. This light was filtered by the bottle before crashing against Julien.

I like this picture for its burlesque aspect. It seems to be taken from another time when gansters with silvery guns - sometimes - sorted their affairs out during a game of bluff.

ps : Julien is wearing a black hat, disappearing there in the shadows and leaving a kind of “head break”.
pps : minor manipulations with lights on some zones and on the general semi sepia effect.
