The Meat Safe

A stranger halts in front of the scene.

“Look once more, suggested the narrator. This is not only a normal scene of a normal kitchen. Look better. You can certainly see a full meat safe, and this antic coffee mill overhanging it. Yes, the fruits seem to be fresh, the laurel sweet-smelling and this round loaf makes hungry. But have a good look, one last time.”

The stranger comes a bit closer to the scene. The shadow stands against the wall and swallows the spectator.

“At last!, exclaimed the narrator. I began to feel alone.”
